As part of the City of Sydney Council and NSW Government response to support the economic recovery of NSW, ‘pop-up’ cycleways have been installed across the City of Sydney LGA to enable people to ride to work and local businesses safely, while freeing up space on public transport and roads.
Each cycleway involved the installation of a rubber separator kerb system and new roadway line-marking to delineate the bicycle path. Changed traffic conditions required the demolition of several roundabouts, the repaving of sections of roadway, and the pouring of concrete ramps to aid safe transitions to and from shared footpath areas.
The Project was undertaken within a very short deadline, reaching completion in only a couple of weeks.
