Scope of Work

QMC Group completed these Council upgrade works between the Pacific Highway and Wade Lane in Gordon. Construction extended into nearby cross streets including Henry Street, Churchill Lane and Clipsham Lane.

This project demanded that QMC ensure minimal impact to local businesses, the community (visitors and residents) and commuters. It involved working amongst a bus interchange, train station, retail and hospitality premises with constant vehicle and pedestrian traffic.

The majority of works were completed outside of standard working hours and often under Road Occupancy Licences with significant working hours and noisy work restrictions. There was significant interest from other stakeholders including Transport for NSW, Sydney Water and Transport Management Centre. Underground services were relocated in accordance with Service Authorities whilst maintaining supply to their customers.

The scope included demolition of existing pavements including footpath and roadways, general site earthworks, stormwater infrastructure upgrades, watermain relocation and electrical infrastructure upgrades, excavation and construction of strata-vault tree pits, construction of cast in-situ walls and stairs, a new pedestrian crossing with two raised thresholds, various kerb and gutter works, a 230mm thick asphalt road, balustrades and street furniture finished with signage, line marking and landscaping works.
