Scope of Work

The Barney Point Coal Terminal Wharf Remediation project included demolition of concrete slabs and supporting beams using ultra-high pressure water blasting (20,000 psi) and a 160 tonne crane to remove the decks and beams. As this demolition was undertaken over water, special consideration was given to appropriate demolition methods and environmental controls.

The installation of new pre-stressed concrete beams on high strength bearing pads involved the installation of formwork, cathodic protection titanium strips and anode ribbons. Majority of these works were carried out while the wharf remained operational.
