Scope of Work

Hilda Booler Childcare Centre is in a low-lying area in Glebe, close to the harbour. Flooding in this area is common and based on a hydraulic study, as well as recent flooding damage to the centre, works were carried out to mitigate the future flooding impacts to the childcare centre and to repair the recent damage to the playground areas.

QMC’s scope of works included replacement of downpipes and guttering, replacement of drainage lines around the centre, reconstruction of sanitary drainage, including boundary traps and pipes, replacement of stormwater pits and trench drains and removal of playground equipment, replacing with synthetic grass and rubber soft fall underlay.

The works were carried out while the centre was operational. QMC Group had to carefully manage works around the childcare centre’s daily activities and coordinate works to occur over the 2020 Christmas break.
